Brown T-shirt with a White underliner vs. White T-shirt. The same film separations were used on both shirt imprints. This comparison shows the shift in ink
colors using 4c Process transparent inks over a
White ink underliner. Shirt color will always affect
the original design colors.

Make your designs colorful with a multitude of our standard imprint colors!
When referencing a standard imprint color on your order, please specify the color name and the color percentage. For example, when requesting a "Phantom" Magenta, you would simply reference:
Magenta at 30% . . . It’s that easy!

slight variations of color shades

PROCESS INK COLORS: The 3 transparent colors
can combine & overlay each other to make all the
colors of the rainbow. Plus Black = 4 Color Process.
If you mixed Lemon Jell-O with Blueberry Jell-O you
would get Green Jell-O. White or pale shirt colors
are best for keeping 4cp designs vibrant.
White underlay's are possible but they add
to the labor cost & cause other problems
for silkscreen printing.

Why use process color?
The answer is simple. The prints look great when
done correctly! Where else can you print with just
4-colors (process colors) and get hundreds of
shades and colors that come very close to
matching the original artwork?
4-Color Process Printing policies.
What is 4 Color Process printing?
1. Cyan ink 2. Magenta ink 3. Yellow ink 4. Black ink = 4 Color Process
Minimum of 4 screens are required:
4 Color Process Printing =
4-color process printing is where you start with finished full-color artwork (like a painting or photo)
then colors are separated out to the three subtractive primary colors of yellow, cyan (process blue),
and magenta (process red) plus black. The films, or separations are halftone (converted to dots).
We put them on high mesh counts, print them with special process inks and the print looks like the
original. There is never an exact match since it's purely by demand that Screen Printers are using
paper printing methods for fabrics instead.
There will always be a shift in colors
for art files to the final screen printed product.
Your monitor and inkjet printer can not
duplicate what is done in the screen
We always recommend that our customers not use
4 color process on a dark shirt colors, the result is not a good
quality print. For dark colors, we recommend simulated process.
Using the Black of the fabric color to show thru, allowing the print
to breathe and not be a solid patch of ink.
Stay away from four color process on dark shirts, why?
Because the final result tends to be washed out and dull, like the
Brown t-shirt Fish design (above left). Also, there is no way for the screen printer to match the colors in the original design. But we
were able to reproduce exact ink colors in these two simulated process examples.
If your design has no blending of ink colors then it
is best to use Spot Color Printing. Exact color
matching of your artwork can be achieved >>>
